Bylaws of Carrizozo Works, Inc.

Project 1500 is about community and economic development.  The goal is to grow our population to 1,500 people by July 4th, 2017.   Carrizozo has many positive assets to build upon. We need to attract more people to Carrizozo to help support the businesses we have and encourage new ones. More people, means more jobs, convenient shopping and activities for all ages.

Carrizozo is losing residents and businesses. The critical mass of a sustainable community is 1500. In 1964 Carrizozo’s population was over 1500.   From 2000 to 2010 our population decreased from 1034 to 996. We must stop this loss.

Adopt-a-Block is the first phase of Project 1500 and the first step toward this goal. Adopt-a-Block is a neighborhood revitalization plan with block coordinators and residents working together to support Project 1500. Together we can make this happen, have fun, and share pride in our hometown.
